"HIV causes aids, to argue otherwise costs lives," said a full page advertisement in the New York Times on Sunday, July the 9th..
It is aimed at the "scientific controversy" which marks the 13th International AIDS conference in Durban this week.
The declaration states that the "cause of aids is as well established as the causes of polio, measles, influenza or any other viral decease."

Washington DC - "Baby Rosita", who was born in a tree during the catastrophic floods which devastated Mozambique earlier this year, is scheduled to arrive in the United States.
When she was stranded in a tree to escape the rising flood waters, Cecilia Chirindza gave birth to Rosita. The event focused world wide attention on the natural disaster.
Baby Rosita's visit to the States is an effort to create a larger awareness of inadequate infrastructures on the African continent. During the visit, Rosita and her mother will also receive medical assistance.

Live Webcast of SA Musicians
Seattle, WA - The World Entertainment Network will be offering an exclusive live webcast of the WOMAD USA Festival in Seattle, from July 28 - 30, 2000.
WOMAD (World of Music, Arts and Dance) will be presenting an array of artists during the festival including Miriam Makeba and the rising SA group, Tananas.
The Tananas, who offer a complex amalgam of jazz, afro rhythms and melodic acoustic music, will be playing every day during the festival. Miriam Makeba, who's dynamic blend of African hi-life, Latin grooves and jazzy nuances have enchanted South Africans and the rest of the world for many years, will be on stage on Sunday 30th.

News in Brief RSA-Overseas
Oz - Nz Thriller!
Australia and New Zealand produced one of the most spectacular games of rugby EVER. So say many pundits, and without actually seeing the game I cannot comment.
However, the last minute 39 - 35 victory by the 'Blacks, and this after the Aussies came back from 24-0 down, certainly does not give me much hope for a 'Boks success against either team before the start of the Tri-Nations next week.
But fair-weather supporters we are not, and be there we will! Well, as much as we can here in the USA - Summers Bar in Arlington, VA on Saturday morning!
