Wynberg has many restored cottages and antique shops and is one of Cape Town's largest suburbs. The area known as Wynberg Village is the setting for many pre-1850 buildings. Maynardville Open-Air Theatre is the venue for Shakespearean productions.

Wynberg in relation to Cape Town and False Bay, formerly called Simon's Bay. Bordering the Constantia valley Wynberg makes up part of Cape Towns Southern Suburbs. Only 10 kilometres from the centre of Cape Town, Wynberg is high on visitors’ lists mainly because of the Old Wynberg Village, declared an urban conservation area and home to one of the biggest collections of historic properties in a declared conservation area in and around Cape Town, if not the country.

Wynberg is green and a number of parks offer visitors and residents some wonderful walks and leisure activities. Wynberg Park covers more than 20 hectares and has a play park, walks and picnic spots. This charming area is conveniently situated to top schools, shopping centres, sports clubs and more. Wynberg Chelsea boats quaint Boutique shops, fine restaurants and pubs.

South Africa's oldest club - The Royal Cape Golf Club is also in Wynberg. It was established in Cape Town in 1885, it has a prestigious championship course that is always in good condition. The Royal Cape Course with its lovely views of Table Mountain seen from most holes, offers a beautiful setting that will make your visit here truly memorable.
