Try your best to brave the guano stench as no trip to Lambert’s Bay is complete without visiting Bird Island. As one of only six sites in the world where Cape gannets breed, it’s a must-visit for birders and nature enthusiasts. Study the massive flock from a custom-built lookout point and observe behaviour such as beak scissoring and unique mating dances. Also be on the lookout for cormorants, gulls and penguins.

Open Summer: 7am-7pm daily. Winter 7.30am-6pm daily.

Admission R30 adults; R15 under-12s.

No credit cards are accepted.
