The original idea was born out of personal preference, to establish a retreat where one could be pampered from head to toe and indulge in sheer decadence. The greatest challenge was to market the totally unique concept of an African spa coupled with decadent revitalization, which has become Mangwanani’s trademark today. Erin specifically wanted to empower local women and not use qualified Beauty Therapists, to allow previously disadvantaged women from the local communities, to be empowered by their natural abilities.
With a great deal of support from her family, together with a tremendous amount of determination and passion, Mangwanani the Original African Day Spa was born in 2002.
Mangwanani Sibaya is situated at Sibaya Casino & Entertainment Kingdom on the North Coast near Umhlanga Rocks, about 25 km from Durban.
Mangwanani Sibaya has a unique venue which embraces traditional Zulu architecture in a typical village layout.
