Drakenstein Lion Park

Before you get all excited, this isn’t the kind of place where you can rough and tumble with cubs or stroke a jungle king’s mane. This is a rehabilitation centre for lions that’ve been bred in captivity and often times suffered abuse at the hands of circus bosses and zoo keepers. Nonetheless, you’ll be more than content watching these majestic predators from the safe distance of a raised platform, being able to rest assured in the knowledge that these beasts have been given a second chance.

Open 9.30am-5pm daily.

Admission R45 adults; R25 kids.
