Old-fashioned hospitality and heaped plates of comfort food are the order of the day at this popular stop that wears its quirky vintage style on its sleeve. From the newspaper ‘wallpaper’ to the timeworn chairs, the warm welcome and hearty food, guests are made to feel absolutely at ease from the get go. Expect good old-fashioned South African-style favourites – from bredies to bobotie, a variety of seafood offerings, rib-sticking puddings and lovely jubbly scones with jam and cream for tea. If it’s warm, take a table in the pretty garden and enjoy an alfresco meal.

Open 9.30am-3.30pm, 6.30-9.30 daily.

Main courses R95.
