The tables under the oaks are some of the prettiest in the Valley on a fine summer’s day, and the food matches up to the views with a selection of traditional Cape favourites. Picnic baskets also available, to be enjoyed at a private spot on the estate’s riverbank. Pay a visit to the Museum vande Caab, which explores the history of the valley from its Stone Age inhabitants through slavery and apartheid to the present day.
