The Coega Industrial Development Zone near Port Elizabeth on the Indian Ocean coastline of South Africa is a purpose-built industrial and commercial park covering 11 000 hectares – the size of a small city.
The Coega Development Corporation (CDC) provides a highly competitive environment for companies positioning themselves to take maximum advantage of the next upturn in the global economy.
Ideally located for global manufacturers, logistics suppliers and business process outsourcing companies, the Coega IDZ is situated 20 km east of the city of Port Elizabeth on the south-eastern Indian Ocean coast of South Africa. It is served by the new deepwater port of Ngqura, which is the most modern harbour in Africa. (-33.767 latitude, 25.667 longitude).
There are also direct rail and road links from the IDZ into the Southern African land networks, while the nearby Port Elizabeth airport has daily flights linking travellers to the four corners of the globe.
As part of the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Municipality, which includes the city of Port Elizabeth and towns of Uitenhage and Despatch, Coega offers a modern, cosmopolitan lifestyle with world-class education and medical facilities, as well as a relaxed Indian Ocean lifestyle surrounded by “big five” reserves, the Baviaanskloof World Heritage site and more.
Coega is ready for you, with all the basic infrastructure, facilities and support in place. A number of investors are already enjoying the benefits of being in the Coega IDZ – and their numbers are growing every day.
We invite you to contact the CDC to discuss the full range of services and incentives provided for investors in the Coega IDZ. The services include business formation and registration, fast-tracking environmental and construction approvals, relocation of skilled staff, the lease of existing facilities, investment in purpose-built factories and warehouses, and financial modelling. The CDC also provides specialist recruitment, selection, training and human capital management through its division Coega Human Capital Solutions.
