The Drakensberg Boys Choir School, synonymous with singing of world-class standard, is currently reaching out to their immediate neighbours in the Champagne Valley to much greater extending as in the past.
Learners of the Champagne Valley School (Primary) and the Meadowsweet School, a combined primary and secondary school, are being supported on a regular basis by Maretha Gresse, wife of the Rector. She is employed by the DBCS Educational Trust. The immediate educational needs like the supply of much needed study resource material, toys, second hand clothes and standing in for staff when absent are but a few of the aspects that receive attention.
A new library is currently being built at the Meadowsweet School and with the generous help of parents and friends of the Drakensberg Boys, books and study aids are provided to make this dream come true.
There are currently a large number of school going children in the Valley not attending school and it is one of the priorities to be addressed in the near future with the help of the valley community. It is important for the Board, Staff, Boys and Parents of the Drakensberg Boys Choir School to assist fellow learners in their neighbourhood in their attempt to receive quality education and equal opportunities to fulfil their dreams for a better future.
