Built in 1848, this is the second-oldest working lighthouse in the country, and was designed in homage to the Pharos of Alexandria – one of the seven man-made wonders of the ancient world. Browse the museum and curio shop, and take a load off for tea. A climb up the series of precipitous wooden ladders is well worth it.

Open 9am-5pm daily (tower closes 4.40pm).

Admission R17 adults; R8.50 under-11s.
