Cederberg Astronomical Observatory

Star lovers will delight in an evening at this private-ly run amateur observatory. Watch a short slide show presentation followed by a chance to spot the stars under one of the observatory’s powerful telescopes. Bring along a blanket in winter.

How to go:

Take the Algeria Forest Station road (gravel road) 28km after the Citrusdal turn-off.The observatory is 48km further, 1km before the Dwarsrivier farmstead on the Maltese Cross Road.

Open Saturday evenings weather permitting; closed on full-moon weekends.
