Looking for quality ICT lesson material, including lesson plans, worksheets and other activities? We provide teacher and learner support material for Grade R, Grade 1 - 9, Grade 10 - 12 and A(B)ET learners. Activities suitable for senior learners and adult education. These activities are all done directly on the computer. Different sets are available. Each set consists of 10 exercises.
The term ABET refers to Adult Basic Education and Training. It is one of the priorities of the National Education Strategy (Tirisano). An outcomes-based curriculum was developed for ABET. This curriculum aims to provide basic learning tools, knowledge and skills and provides learners with nationally recognised qualifications.
There are 4 levels of ABET training and these are equivalent to Grades R - 9. The curriculum includes several learning areas, including Language, Mathematics, Natural Science, Arts and Culture, Life Orientation, Technology, Human and Social Science and Economic and Management Science.
ABET Level 4 learners can choose courses in Small, Medium and Micro Enterprises, Tourism, Agricultural Science and Ancillary Health Care. Adult learners can enrol for the ABET programme at one of the following: Government Centres, Private Training Facilities specialising in providing ABET training, Company Training Facilities for company employees and at the different SETAs (Skills Education Training Authorities).
